Pearl Mill Flats, Durham, NC

We visited Durham back in 2018 and stayed in Pearl Mill Flats then. Our apartment, the host and location in the city were all great so when we were planning our August trip to Durham, we knew just where to stay. And wouldn’t you know it, we were able to book through the same host that we’d had 5 years back, as Jody is still renting out her space at Pearl Mill Flats.
This 1 BR apartment was just right for our 2.5 week stay. The couch is comfy and so is the recliner, perfect for some R&R. And the tv had cable channels and not just streaming which was a welcome change!
The bedroom has tons of room with two large closets and a dresser. We always appreciate being able to unpack and put our suitcases away! WIth all the space in the bedroom, there’s plenty of room for a comfortable king size Tempurpedic bed.
The bathroom isn’t huge but there were washcloths and plenty of hand towels which always makes the difference for us. There was also a medicine cabinet for all your toiletries, which again, helped contribute to us making the space our own.
And the Pearl Mill Flats community has plenty to do outside the apartment. There’s a large swimming pool that wasn’t crowded at all, a giant chess/checkers board, tons of flowers in the garden, charcoal grills, tables/chairs and hammocks. If you need to do laundry, there’s a community space for that too. Multiple sizes of washers and dryers so we never had to wait for that either. With all this in the courtyard, we were incredibly surprised how quiet it was as well.
If the comfortable space and inviting community isn’t enough for you, the location is great too! Plenty of restaurants to walk over to, as well as, the weekly farmer’s market. Just 10 minutes away!
So happy we chose to stay in Pearl Mill Flats again. And we’ll likely stay when we come back to Durham since it’s such a great space.
